Several features of the Calamity Mod can be toggled outside the game though the usage of the CalamityConfig.json file.

CalamityConfig.json resides in one of the following locations by default:

  • Windows: "C:\Users\username\Documents\My Games\Terraria\ModLoader\Mod Configs"
  • Mac: "~/Library/Application support/Terraria/ModLoader/Mod Configs"
  • Linux: "Home/.local/share/Terraria/Modloader/Mod Configs"

Configurable mechanics[edit | edit source]

The following settings are listed in the CalamityConfig.json file. Editing these settings requires the player to quit Terraria completely, open the file, edit the settings then start Terraria again.

Adrenaline and Rage[edit | edit source]

"AdrenalineAndRage": true, or false, (default: true)

"RageMeterXPos": (default: 500)
"RageMeterYPos": (default: 30)
"AdrenalineMeterXPos": (default: 650)
"AdrenalineMeterYPos": (default: 30)

  • The positions of the bars can also be changed by adjusting the coordinates provided in the file.

Mining Speed Boost[edit | edit source]

"Mining Speed Boost": true, or false, (default: false)

  • The player's mining speed is increased by +75% when this is set to true. This feature is disabled by default.

Proficiency[edit | edit source]

"ProficiencyEnabled": true, or false, (default: true)

  • Setting this to false will disable the mod's proficiency system, removing the player's ability to level up proficiency and benefit from its stats.

Lethal Lava[edit | edit source]

"LethalLava": true, or false, (default: true)

  • Setting this to false will disable Lethal Lava Burn mechanics.

Boss Health Boost[edit | edit source]

"BossHealthPercentageBoost": (default: 0)

  • Boss health can be increased by adjusting the number provided in the file. The maximum value that can be entered is 900 for an additional 900% health to be added to a boss, resulting in effectively 10 times the normal amount of health. Negative inputs will default to 0, and inputs greater than 900 will default to 900.

Boss Rush Curses[edit | edit source]

"BossRushAccessoryCurse": true, or false, (default: false)

  • Setting this to true restricts the amount of usable accessory slots to five while the Boss Rush is active. This feature is disabled by default.

"BossRushHealthCurse": true, or false, (default: false)

  • Setting this to true negates all positive life regen while the Boss Rush is active. This feature is disabled by default.

"BossRushDashCurse": true, or false, (default: false)

  • Setting this to true disables all dashes while the Boss Rush is active. This feature is disabled by default.

"BossRushXerocCurse": true, or false, (default: false)

  • Setting this to true colors all enemies with a reddish tint and increases their movement in a similar manor as the Demonshade enrage while the Boss Rush is active. This feature is disabled by default.

"BossRushImmunityFrameCurse": true, or false, (default: false)

  • Setting this to true prevents the player from getting hit more than once in the span of five seconds while the Boss Rush is active. Getting hit with less than five seconds since the last hit will instantly kill the player. This feature is disabled by default.

Vanilla changes for Expert Mode[edit | edit source]

Certain changes to Expert Mode provided by the mod can be enabled or disabled.

"DisableExpertEnemySpawnsNearHouse": true, or false, (default: false)

  • Setting this to true will give the player the Zen buff's effects while more than one Town NPC is nearby. This feature is disabled by default.

"ExpertDebuffDurationReduction": true, or false, (default: true)

  • The removal of the doubled debuff times can be toggled off when set to false.

"ExpertChilledWaterRemoval": true, or false, (default: true)

  • The water in the Snow and Underground Snow biomes can be toggled to either deplete the player's breath faster without inflicting Chilled, or vice versa when set to false.

"ExpertPillarEnemyKillCountReduction": true, or false, (default: true)

  • The Celestial Pillars' kill lowered requirement can be toggled from 100 back to 150 when set to false, similarly to vanilla Terraria's threshold.

Trivia[edit | edit source]

  • The Boss Rush curses are inspired by bindings from Hollow Knight, which are optional challenges that can be applied to a Pantheon, the game's equivalent of a boss rush mode.
    • The Immunity curse is inspired by the High Stress modifier of the Challenge Mode in Enter the Gungeon.
