The Excelsus is a post-Moon Lord broadsword that is dropped by The Devourer of Gods. When swung, three spinning energy swords are thrown from the blade at slightly varying speeds and velocities. They can be blue, pink, or both blue and pink, however they all function identically. They can pierce two enemies before dissipating on the third and slow down when hitting tiles. Striking an enemy directly with the sword will cause a fountain of five fast gravity-affected lasers to spray into the air from the point of contact. All of the Excelsus's projectiles inflict the Frostburn debuff for 10 seconds.
Its best modifier is Legendary.

Trivia[edit | edit source]
- Excelsus is one of several references to Metal Gear Rising: Revengeance, the others being the Boss Health Bar, Murasama, Red Sun and Revengeance Mode alongside other minor references.
- The name "Excelsus" is a reference to the second to last boss fight, which is a massive robot known as MG Excelsus.
- The laser fountains spawned on hit are affected by flasks and melee boosting equipment due to their internal classification as melee damage.
