The Subsuming Vortex’s large vortex projectile releasing homing tentacles, charging, and exploding.

The Subsuming Vortex is a craftable post-Moon Lord spell tome that, on use, fires a large rainbow vortex towards the player’s cursor that damages enemies. If any enemies are nearby, the vortex will travel towards an enemy regardless of the position of the cursor. While traveling, the large vortex will occasionally release homing tentacles that will surround nearby enemies and linger for six seconds. While lingering, tentacles travel in an infinity pattern, dealing damage to all nearby enemies. There can only be four active vortices at once.

After five seconds of the giant vortex’s existence, it will come to a stop and begin charging up for five seconds. All enemies nearby the vortex are damaged while it is charging up. Once fully charged, the vortex will explode and release multiple smaller vortices that home-in on nearby enemies, akin to the Nuclear Fury. The smaller vortices inflict the following debuffs on enemies:

On enemies, these combined debuffs cause the target to be completely unable to move, lose 208 health per second, have their defense cut in half with an additional 28 defense loss, and become unable to regenerate health. In Revengeance and Death Mode, they will also lose 20% damage reduction.

Its best modifier is Mythical.

Notes[edit | edit source]

  • The smaller vortices spawned by the giant vortex are often difficult to spot as they tend to home-in on the same enemy the giant vortex was targeting.

Trivia[edit | edit source]

  • This weapon used to function similarly to the Razorblade Typhoon, where it fired three rebounding vortices that would home-in onto enemies.
